For more than three decades, Mike Murchison has worked at the intersection of government, business, and community affairs, building a reputation as a trusted advisor and strategic advocate for clients navigating complex governmental and regulatory matters throughout Southern California.

As Founder and President of Murchison Consulting, Mike represents a diverse range of businesses, property owners, developers, engineering firms, hospitality and restaurant operators, entertainment companies, and other organizations. His work includes land-use and entitlement matters, environmental and regulatory issues, infrastructure projects, public policy, and government approvals. From major development projects to complex matters involving local and regional agencies, Mike works closely with clients to develop strategies, build consensus, and move projects forward.

Born and raised in Long Beach, Mike has deep roots in the community and has remained actively involved in civic and charitable causes throughout his career. He serves as a Trustee of both the Bess Hodges Foundation and the Clancy Foundation, which support nonprofit organizations and community initiatives.

Mike is a graduate of the University of Southern California and a devoted Los Angeles Rams fan. Outside the office, he enjoys spending time with family and friends and competing with his wife, Tracy, on the golf course and pickleball court.

As the “Chief Everything Officer” at Murchison Consulting, Tracy Murchison brings energy, versatility, and a hands-on approach to every aspect of the firm. Drawing on her extensive background in marketing and sales, Tracy plays an integral role in client relations, business operations, and the successful execution of the firm’s projects.

Working closely with Mike, Tracy helps manage projects from strategy through completion, ensuring that details are handled, deadlines are met, and clients receive the responsiveness and personal attention that are hallmarks of Murchison Consulting.

A proud graduate of CSU Chico, Tracy enjoyed a successful career in the apparel industry before bringing her experience and entrepreneurial spirit to Murchison Consulting. Away from the office, she enjoys golf, pickleball, spending time with family and friends, and giving back to the community.

When the Coronavirus pandemic struck in March 2020, Mike and Tracy Murchison sprang into action to support their Long Beach community. Their first initiative was a personal and uplifting gesture—purchasing and delivering fifty 6-pack boxes of Bundts from their dear friend Jeff, owner of Bundts On Melrose, to family and friends during the initial stay-at-home orders. It was a small act with a big impact, aimed at spreading joy and supporting a beloved local business.

In May 2020, they launched The Long Beach Challenge, a grassroots fundraising campaign to benefit children, families, and homebound seniors. Partnering with Meals on Wheels of Long Beach and the Long Beach Education Foundation, the campaign raised over $87,000 in just two months, demonstrating the power of community and compassion.

Their commitment to youth education continues each year through a partnership with the Long Beach Grand Prix. Mike and Tracy coordinate visits to eight Long Beach elementary schools, bringing a show car and professional driver to teach kids about driver safety and spark excitement for the city’s iconic street race—held annually for over 50 years.

In recognition of their ongoing dedication, George and Mike Murchison were honored in 2021 by The Ronald McDonald House as part of the “A Few Good Men” celebration, acknowledging their meaningful contributions to the community.
